What is a Mil?

A mil is a form of measurement to compare thicknesses of a product. When measuring plastic and paper a mil is equivalent to 1/1000 of an inch.

How To Convert Mil to Gauge

To convert the Gauge of a product multiply the number of Mils by 100. A gauge is a measurement of thickness to compare products.

For Example Product: Recloseable Bags 2 Mil  

Converting Mil to Gauge: 

2Mil x 100=200 Guage

For Example Mil to Inches

2 Mil / 1000 = .002 Inches
