Packaging your items can be one of the challenging tasks you may encounter within your business operations, especially when you need to ship your products in different destinations. However, if you know how you can pack your items properly, it becomes easier for you to deliver your products effeciently.
In packaging product items, it is an excellent idea if you are going to follow the general rules. That way, you can save time and energy, as well as reduce shipping costs.
As a business owner, it is also necessary for you to learn the different packing methods to make your shipping process much easier.
In packing your items using this method, you need to use fillers such as loosefill peanuts, crumpled newspaper, and bubble roll wraps. That is to fill the empty spaces while preventing the products’ movements in the box. For small parts, you need to consolidate them using a sealed container and package in the sturdy outer box. Use the H-taping method to seal your shipping cartons.
Using a 5-cm thick foam material or air-cellular cushioning, wrap your products individually to fit comfortably inside the corrugated box. Use filler materials to restrict the items from movement. Use the H-taping method to close and tape the inner box. After that, use the 2nd box about 6” wider, longer, and deeper compared to the inner box. Cushion the inner box using fillers and wrap it with foam or air-cellular cushioning materials in filling out empty spaces. Using the H-taping method you can easily seal the seams for secure top, bottom and sides.
When sealing your package, you can use water-activated, pressure-sensitive, or water-activated reinforced tape. When applying the tape using the H-taping method you will notice the shipping boxes are more secure and less chance of opening or bursting at the seams. Avoid using duct tape, masking tape, cellophane tape, or string.
Packing Unique Items
In every type of item, there is a particular packing method that you need to consider.
For example, when packing glass artwork use masking tape to make an X on the glass surface to prevent glass breakage. If you are going to pack stringed musical instruments, you have to loosen the tension on the instrument’s strings. As for the rolled goods, you can wrap them tightly using a kraft paper roll and then, wrap the items using a plastic packing tape.
With the above guidelines, you will become professional when it comes to packing and shipping your products. For dependable shipping boxes, you can count on StarBoxes.
